Friday Tip of the Week: Knee and Ankle Stability Exercises

If you follow my Facebook page, you know that I was annoyed by an ex-runner who gave me grief about running because they suffered knee injures. Needless to say, I had to bite my tongue, smile, and say “If I develop issues, I’ll get it taken care of.” If you ask me, I believe that if you run smart, cross train properly, and ensure you are consistent with warming up before and stretching after runs, you’ll reduce your risk of injury significantly.

My Friday Tips of the Week are posted to help share the information I find to help us prevent injuries. The video clip below is a simple exercise that helps strengthen and stabilize your knee and ankle. This exercise can be done at home or even at the office.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

  1. My father told me I would need knee replacements because I run…ya know, cuz he knew a lady once. Whatever, right.
This is a great exercise. I like to do a scaled down version while I wait in lines – like in the grocery store.
    Happy Running!
