MCM Training – Week 10 Wrap-up (Track, Athletes Serving Athletes Training Run, & 20 Mile Prep)

I’m here! I’m here! Sorry, it’s been a pretty crazy week and I’ve slacked off on my blogging a little bit. Putting in 12 – 16 hour days at the office just doesn’t leave much time for writing. The few moments I have free are dedicated to eating, sleeping, and running. So, let’s catch up!

Did a the ladder workout  at the track on Tuesday (400, 800, 1200, 1600, 1200, 800, 400, with a slow 400 in between each round) and as almost always at the track, I was going to fast. My average pace was 9:45 where I should’ve been at around 10:30.

Wednesday, I had my MRI. Check it out! Looks like meat! I still haven’t heard back from the doctor, so I’m going to assume that no news is good news and I will continue on with my training. With the exception of a little tightness, I feel pretty good overall.

Thursday’s tempo run was a bust. Worked until about midnight and then was up again at 4am working in stead of running…booooo…hissss!

Friday’s cross training was a bust too for the same reason as Thursday. Again…booo…hissss!

Today I did my first training run with Running Serving Athletes! We only ran 3 miles, but they were TOUGH!!! I had no idea how much I depended on my arms when I run! I had the honor of meeting and pushing two of the athletes and felt bad that I couldn’t do more than I could. But, I’m looking forward to running next week’s NFL Kickoff 5k with them and participating in more races with them. They are very remarkable people.

Also trying a new skirt, new tank top, and a hydration bladder for my hydration vest. Hope that’s not too may “new” stuff for a very long run. Rule of thumb is to never try new stuff during a race. What can I say? I’m a rebel.
